Camilo and Camila are friends who met in culinary school and love cooking Colombian food together. They represent a new generation of Colombian cooks who are working to introduce their country’s cuisine to the world. Using traditional techniques and regional ingredients they put a modern twist on classic Colombian dishes. Camila and Camilo host at their restaurant, a small, cozy space that is brightly decorated. They have a separate cooking studio on the second floor where you will enjoy your cooking class together. Camilo shops daily at the local market to ensure that they use the freshest ingredients at the peak of ripeness. Join Camilo and Camila in their professional kitchen at their restaurant where you will learn to cook 2 to 3 of their modern Colombian dishes, such as arepas (typical corn cakes), patacones (flattened and fried plantains) or hogao (a traditional Colombian sauce). During your hands-on cooking experience they will show you Colombian cooking techniques and teach you how to use the best local ingredients. You will get to experience how a professional Colombian chef works in the kitchen, and then enjoy your delicious creations together! Once you've finished your cooking experience, enjoy your meal together. Your meal will start with a Colombian starter and then you’ll enjoy a main dish such as posta negra (tender stewed beef, Colombian-style), mote (a traditional sweet potato and cheese soup), fried costeño cheese, or ensalada con aguacate (salad with avocado). For dessert, enjoy a traditional sweet like oblea, a sandwich cookie made of thin crispy wafers stuffed with arequipe, the Colombian version of dulce de leche. Camilo and Camila also offer an optional market tour add-on, during which they will take you on a tour of Las Cobadas, a large market located in northern Bogotá.

Bogota
The Andean city of Santa Fe de Bogota, the capital city of Colombia, is where most visitors begin their experience in the country.
Founded in 1538 by Spanish conquistadors, Bogota lies at the Western base of a mountain range that includes the shrine-topped peaks of Monserrate and Guadalupe.
The city is set at 8,500 ft/2,600 m—if you fly in from a much lower elevation, take it easy for a day or two to adjust to the altitude. Allow three days to see Bogota's sights.
